Multiple sonographic images of the transplanted liver were assessed for gray scale appearance and color doppler flow.


Findings:

The liver is normal in size and echogenicity.

No ascites is present.

Mid TIPS stent velocity is ____ cm/sec.
Distal TIPS stent near its anastomosis with the IVC is ____ cm/sec.

(Normal velocities are between 90- 200 cm/sec)
(Less than 90 cm/sec indicates thrombosis)
(Greater than 200 cm/sec indicates stenosis)

The stent has normal slight protrusion into the IVC.


Impression:

1. Patent TIPS stent with normal velocities.
